What are OneSource hands-on practice scenarios and why should I do them?

Hands-On Practice Scenarios are step-by-step scenarios that you can perform to learn how to perform certain steps in real time.

NOTE: Under the direction of your company's on-site OneSource Administrator (OSAdmin) your company will more than likely create a number of Hands-On Practice scenarios (called Pilots) to perform most, if not all, of your company's specific business processes. These pilots will also include samples of actual, meaningful data.  The Hands-On practice scenarios listed at the bottom of this topic, while helpful as well, are more generic in nature.

Hands-On Practice Tutorials have the some major benefits:

  1. They allow you to learn almost any function necessary to perform your job - at your own pace, and based on your own schedule

  2. They will help you learn the best or quickest ways to accomplish different tasks, based on different scenarios.  (OneSource is simple enough to figure out, in many cases, without any help.  However, the purpose of these scenarios is to help you learn the most efficient ways to accomplish all of your day-to-day tasks).

  3. They provide a better way toretain your knowledge of what you are learning (since you are actually performing each of the tasks hands-on)

  4. They provide increased confidence.  The day you Go Live with OneSource will NOT be the first time you try doing certain tasks with a customer in front of you or on the phone.

  5. They will serve as a refresher course if, at a later point in time, you need to refer back to step by step training scenarios
